Thank you for contacting Pace. The impacts to Pace bus service in Glenview and Northbrook that you referred to are part of the revised Phase 2 North Shore Transit Service Coordination Plan changes Pace announced in 2018-2019. These proposals are currently on hold while we focus on our operations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In relation to Driving Innovation plan, initiative #A-5 proposes Pace conduct a system-wide assessment of its entire bus network. As part of this effort, any fixed-route, On Demand, or similar demand-response type services may be considered for these specific areas. It is also possible for part or all of the outstanding proposed North Shore changes to be reevaluated during this process. The A-5 initiative is currently anticipated to start sometime in 2022 and will include an extensive public outreach process among all impacted communities.
Additionally, the Phase 2 changes will be subject to continued assessment of the post-pandemic demand for bus service, further coordination with the CTA, public hearings, and approval by Pace’s Board of Directors.
If you have any additional questions or concerns about the Driving Innovation plan and associated initiatives, please feel free to again send an email to Driving.Innovation@PaceBus.com.
If you have any suggestions for specific service changes, please contact Pace’s Customer Relations department at (847) 364-7223 ext. 3, or by sending an email to Passenger.Services@PaceBus.com.

Is Driving Innovation going to take care of two problems with the ill-fated North Shore Coordination Project:
Community engagement: The project pretended that it only affected Evanston, Skokie, Wilmette, and Lincolnwood, but, without holding any planning sessions north of there, proposed at the last minute cutting bus service to The Glen Town Center and Northbrook, resulting in considerable political backlash. I assume you will not be doing that again.
Even if the closures at Northbrook Court and Deerbrook Mall indicate that a fixed route is no longer justified, does Pace intend to follow through with the Driving Innovation principle of instituting On Demand in the above areas?
