Has anybody actually seen drivers  training on the Nova at Kedzie?

This is a more bus moves topic talk about Kedzie garage and their novas in the 7900 deliveries and assignments or the 8325’s topic

He's in the correct topic.  Training drivers on Novas is relevant to bus moves.

No problem and to answer your question, #8342 if I'm not mistaken is currently at Kedzie to train drivers.  Bus moves will probably begin the next couple weeks.  I'm not too sure, though.

Either am I. When I hear that operators from Kedzie are actually training on 8342, I will believe it. As a former knowledgeable contributor would say, all hearsay and irrelevant. I miss his input and hope he is OK.

You're right. Each of the said routes are going all Nova. 56, however, has a 6400 Series Nova & the rest are 7900 Series.

6400’s are rare on the 56 they mostly do the light routes like 88 68 81W 85A 56 is 90% novas and 10% flyers besides the school trippers

IRS best to keep 6409s on short and light routes and if necessary rush hour trips.

All 6400’s retired it’s only 6500’s 6600’s and 6700’s and 68’s

I think he means the 6400-series in general.

How come they’re making routes like the 9, 53, 54, 56, 77 all nova 7900s? Is it to run a uniform fleet or are they the most reliable for those routes? Also I’ve noticed the 80 running mostly new flyers with some nova 7900s and nova 8325s and rarely running 6400s.

The 9, X9, 53, and 54 are always 7900-series Nova.  The 77 and 56 should be but never are because FG does not have enough equipment.  There are always a few Flyer on 77 and on 56 and sometimes even an old Nova.

#1430 is the only bus i've seen for nearly a year now that gets the nod to run on Ashland most of the time, I've never understood why though. Somes times #1497 pops up every other few weeks but #1430 runs usually every run except night - owl runs.
