PACE's Contract Operaters.

Somewhat surprisingly, MV got the 66x contract, according to the May 2014 minutes.

This had been First Student, and while it had been operated out of the same yard as the Lisle routes, apparently it won't be.

Interesting. Wonder what they will do with the Eldos in Westmont? Looking up MV locations, the closest ones to the Lisle/Westmont area is in Melrose Park or Carol Stream. Each of the 660s route operate 1 bus.

Certain bus numbers or equivalent were identified in the proposal.

The Pace Route Finder indicates MV Transportation Batavia for most of the Wheaton contract, although there are also 2 other MVs on the pull down. That, however, seems too far from Hinsdale.

The Passenger Notice has MV's Batavia phone number. Took effect Aug.25.

The May Board video has some insight on this oldie of a topic.

At issue was the Wheaton-Lombard contract. Since MV already had it, one would think "no big deal," but there were complications that while it was not the low bid, it won on technical considerations such as maintenance and training.

It was also stated that bringing the work in house was considered, but any cost saving from having FV do it was overcome by the cost of deadhead mileage to central DuPage County.

Was this in the Naperville yard or another yard?

To clarify, Pace doesn't have a Naperville yard. First Student (the [former?] contract operator) has several. See, for instance, the following schedule from a submerged part of the Pace website:

My bet is that the buses are stored at South Holland or maybe the lot on the west side of South Division, but I'm not going to make a 75 mile round trip to find out.
