Snowy Saturday in South Holland!

6782 is the highest number here today. Unless there are 1 or 2 more buses parked indoors, I bet this is the last one. No more have showed up at Chandler for the past few weeks.

So is this the last Orion 1 on Pace property ???  Any plans for it or just a "Parking lot decoration" for now ???

It is now posted here. Is for a minimum of 67 and a maximum of 242 buses over 5 years.

....

A few notables:

  • Must have a BRT type front.
  • All seats must have USB ports.

Rereading the specs, I also noted frameless windows and multicolor destination sings. That and the above raise the question whether a Pulse-type bus becomes the standard, or if it is only a reference for bidding. I guess we'll know in late 2019 or thereabout.

6785 at west

6784 is also at west. Dont know why west needs more buses considering they have plenty.

Thanks. So much for the inventory saying FVT ("Fox Valley Training" according to @andrethebusman 's guess).

The issue on new buses is rarely "plenty," but that West has the last white NABIs, including a couple of 6600s, set to retire.

This leads to speculation of all other sorts of bus chess for next month.

Plenty of non air conditioned buses at West.  Remember West has practically all of the remaining NABIs from 2003 and 2005 and the oldest Eldorado Axxesses (6323 '- 6376).  Hence West has the oldest 40' fleet in the Pace system.

So much for my hunch that someone at West was leery about the buses with full-line rear destination signs and preferred buses with only the route number on the rear...

With West now having at least three buses with the full-line rear destination signs assigned to it, 6785 was on the 310 for the early morning trips, and is now on the 303.

The Pace 2016 Contract list includes:

ElDorado National (California) Inc  224904 $540,500.00 Rear Destination Display Signs

So the question basically comes down to what happened on that contract in the about year and a half since?

What's the third, as 6782 and 6783* are at NS and 6786 is at NW, unless the latter was just moved.

_____________

*Wasn't in the inventory, but I actually saw it, and others have reported WebWatch sightings.

The third is a transfer from River to West: 6706. It is on the 330 right now.

Speaking of 6786, it is still at NW - on the 208.

I assume that since West got more new Eldorados to push rest of 2003 NABIs and few bad shape 2005 NABIs out of Fleet real soon.

Looks like W only got essentially a few spares R didn't need. Not enough to make much of a difference.

It isn't like someone saw a load of new buses in the lots at South Holland or Chandler.

Maybe something more happens once the 18500s go into service.

6704 at west. Looks like 6379 - 6385 & 6389 might go to riverScreenshot_2018-06-03-18-31-35.thumb.png.0046d0e48ebc53cdbe2097862ff34203.png

I have confirmed in the "Pace bus moves" thread that 6381 is already at River. It was on the 606 yesterday, and I also saw it in person near Golf and Algonquin Roads. At least three others among that group of eight early highway edition Eldorados should also be at R (which, by the way, already has 6390 and 6391), but we won't know until tomorrow morning as River is one of five Pace garages (the others are Dundee, Fox Valley, Heritage and North Shore) that are not running any buses on Sundays.

However, this morning 877 and 888 are still running 6380s, with one CNG transit.

6380, 6384, 6385, 6389, 15505.

Today there were only 2 highway eldorado buses on 877 and 888. The rest were regular cng buses
