3457-3458 was moved to the Brown Line last week.  I caught the pair yesterday

While 3457-58 were on Brown, they are still Orange assigned, must be on a Brownage.

There is an early morning train originating from  Midway that goes through to Kimball and back.   I know on the return it is Brown all the way to Library  but is the inbound Orange to Washington/Wells or Roosvelt then turning to Brown?

Goes straight to Adams after Roosevelt

The list I work from comes out at 1201 on first of each month. Conceivably there could be transfers that very night that would not appear.

I dont know I was going to edit my list but this list has a few differences from what I've seen like I know #3201-02 are brown and 3203-04 are blue. 3413-14 may have been recent after 10/1.

What I dont get is if blue line is short 50 cars how can exchanged cars exchange 1 for 1. Shouldnt they be in a shop somewhere. If not how did they alleviate the shortage

It's good crews are getting trained. That may mean 3200s are here to stay on the blue line.

Where did you get that?

Well if cars are being exchanged how does that help a shortage? It could be to divide the bad cars out so like say midway can work on some defective cars and Rosemont and forest pk but probably their problems require Skokie shops so it's a matter of replacing what's gone. While cars have been exchanged that doesnt mean they are all in service like the 2600s.

By the end of this month, the Blue Line will run both series of cars in regular service, while it is looking more like the Orange Line will be equipped entirely with 2600s. The Brown Line will continue to operate primarily 3200s, with its assigned 2600s only operating during weekday rush periods and other times when that line needs to operate more cars.

I was trying to figure out why blue line is getting some of the 3200s block and brown was keeping some. Looks like all the cars with updated run number boxes might be going to blue. It's funny what was on the orange did transfer but to brown. (Like #3267-68 and #3263-64 are brown line and were ex orange) What other explanation is there???

You didn't answer how you got there is a shortage, but assumed that. I suppose that's like certain cars having yellow and puce seats.

If you were paying attention the reason 3200s are on the blue in the first place is because of a shortage. What I'm saying is if you make a 1 for 1 trade how do you not put the shortage at the Orange's doorstep. Probably really all 3 lines are going to need both car series or that is what's going to happen. Brown needs to start sharing with Orange. I dont see why they are still over 90 percent 3200.

Puce seats? Is that a color hue, Busjack? Not being smart, but just curious.... there are all sorts of names for color hues and I'm sure I've not heard all of them.

No it wasn't. It's up to you to demonstrate that there was.

The reason given by CTA was to give it newer cars with more standing room, while it couldn't run 5000s full time. Someone beam something else up to you?

The preceding quoted comment certainly makes no sense at all.

Well well  busjack I guess you believe everything that is spoon fed to you. Surprising for someone with a legal background. Do what you do in your profession dig for the facts. Of course cta is not going on record and saying oh yeah our 2600s are beyond their useful life and we dont really have a viable replacement. Putting all our old cars on one line that runs 24 hours was a mistake that finally overwhelmed our mechanics and the only way we can cure the situation is by putting a band aid on it with our newly rehabbed cars.

What I heard was from supervision plus it was on here. I dont understand why you insist on this prove your point theory. But if you insist on this hiding under a rock with pertinent info that was easily accessed on this site, I'm not going stop your ignorance. Carry on!!

Now if we can stop this bull for two seconds and look at the facts, there is a looming question that pertains to your link. If the blue line has a power issue that prevents 5000s from running there in abundance how in the heck are the 7000s going to run there when they most likely have the same power issue? Also explain to me when was the purple lines power upgraded. It has some of the oldest infrastructure in the system.

The supervisor was wrong or you made the incorrect deduction from it, A comment that the Blue Line was moving its shortage to the Orange Line by sending it about 80 cars in a 1-1 swap is totally nonsensical.

For once you came close to it, Maybe what you were trying to say, but was too inarticulate to do it, is that the Blue is sending its junk to the Orange.

Again, you are ignoring the fact that CTA is rebui8lding the substation at 1000 N. Milwaukee. I told @strictures to look up the construction report and article, you can do so too.

The Purple Line doesn't have anywhere the traffic the Blue Line does.
