Is the snow affecting the artics that bad? No 4300s were running and the last 4000s just finished a run on the 12, since its not popping up anymore. Every route that runs artics has shoeboxes on right now

It's also Saturday.   Not necessary to risk artics getting stuck or jackknifed at least until the snow ha stopped and the City has cleared the streets.

There are only 4 artics in service today all from kedzie. does anyone know why this is. i would imagine alot of the buses are packed.

It was the result of the high winds and the slippery road conditions.

My question is who decides the Blue Line frequency span on weekends. On non work weekends, I feel like some weekends they send short turn UIC trains. But like this weekend they just do Forest Park runs. It’s quiet annoying.

During certain times there are short turns on the weekends.

Yes, but I feel like certain times. This weekend included, they decide not to run the short turns. Thus you can be waiting at Jackson for 20-30 minutes before another train comes.

I think they run reduced frequencies when they are single tracking. They sub the 4 car trains with 8 car trains though, to maintain capacity.

Thank you for the replies, but there was no work this weekend and they were still running a temporary schedule. Maybe it was the cold, but I wish that CTA would alert people when they are not planning short turn trains, especially in this cold. You look at Timetable and it shows short turn trains but yet they never show up.

I realize you are likely young, but look at it this way: until about 20 years ago it was basically impossible to find a schedule at CTA. The thinking was you just showed up and sooner or later something came along. People had lower expectations I guess.

November 2018 maps are out. Took a while, they were still handing out July 2018 maps while I was there in January

I believe they actually start at 1929.

1930 starts the "Bowling Alley" style seating.

I wonder if this was the set I saw pulling in Harlem Yard on January 14th.  I reported an 8 car consist, but it could've been a six car consist.

Might have been I didn't think to count the cars but I was like what is this old train doing on the green line

New amenities for CTA rail riders, mostly along the Red Line

Go to 5 Below & you can buy a charging pack for $5 & keep it forever, with no added costs other than the electricity to recharge it.  I'm sure other stores have them cheap.

Strange feeling that some people won't think that far ahead and that's what they're counting on. If it works for airports and amtrak, it'll probably work for CTA, especially since places to charge your phone on the platform get sparse the farther away from the loop you get.
