What about the update on the 34 South Michigan Route, 71 71st/South Shore Route,

and the Green Line. They was the part of the South Side Changes.

Yeah, I thought 34, 71, & 119 was getting service change too. And the Green Line will probably be done later in the month since bus and rail service updates don't occur around the same time.

Only thing about those routes are frequency increases and also all 71st trips will go to 112th so no garage changes or anything major as far as those are concerned. MAYBE 77th will pick up extra runs on 71st but idk

71 is indeed having all buses going thru to 112. However, most PM pullins now will only go to 104/Torrence and in.

34/119 I guess have a bit more midday service, but nothing of consequence.

There are NO garage assignment changes, and none are planned for at least 2 years.

So that makes the shift of 157 from K to C this past spring the last one for the time being.

Last spring was a system pick. Next one should be in spring 2018.

It's good that you shared that so that maybe that slows the impulse to predict garage route changes every time there's a season change in bus operations that include a few extensions. Operations are not that chaotic to think along those lines. The most we ever see out of these is the typical bus swaps to cover garages' increase/decrease in bus usage depending on CPS and other systems' school year start/end.

Notable Advance schedule changes

  • 4. Trips to 115th are one out of three, not one out of two, until 6:17 NB, when most are from 115th except 8:30 and 9:30, then starting at 10:30, all trips are from CSU until Owl kicks in. Sat. and Sun are mostly from 115.
  • 26: Stop restrictions not indicated on 103rd portion of route.
  • 31: Two buses.Reinforcing that it is 77th, one trip starts and both end around LaSalle, Red Line, or Green Line.
  • 34: Schedule coming soon.
  • 71: A few early morning and late night ones only to Exchange, and, as Andre noted, T trips start/end at 104th. On the schedule of 3/27/2016, it seemed like T trips on the weekdays were only pull outs.
  • 95: Most go through, but schedule frequency, which used to be every 10 minutes on 95W if including Pace is now every 10-13 minutes (mostly 13 minutes). 16 minutes on Sunday. Looks like more corresponds to the 95E schedule of 12/20/2015 with regard to frequency.
  • 119: Schedule coming soon.

Pace passenger notice has the layout for the 95th bus terminal.

Notable there is that while 95EB pulls into the terminal, apparently 95WB doesn't, and while 381 drops off at the terminal, it loads at the 95 WB stop on the overpass.

This is correct - WB 95 loads on the bridge. Let's see how this all works out - I'll be running that route 4 days a week... Hopefully with decent (+/- 10 minutes each end) recovery times at each end it won't be the hopeless chase-your-tail eternally-late operation 95E had become, particularly on weekends.

While the changes were talked up on the TV news, it sure looks like a lot of the advance timetables (such as for 34 and 119) won't be showing up on time.

Yeah it seems the only ones out on time relevant to this thread are the ones showing the extensions of the 4 and the 26. along with the 71 reflecting most of the trips going all the way through to 112th/Torrence and the new 95 reflecting the combination of the 95E and 95W. Also to note, there is going to be no new schedule for the 115th route. So that debunks others' thoughts that that route gets affected by the 4 being extended come Sunday.

Later news only had what seems to be on the New Schedules in Effect Alert summary that the increased frequency for 34 and 119 is only off peak weekdays, so again we can conclude no need for additional fleet.

Note: That alert includes 11 Lincoln, which happened a couple of months ago. No advance timetable for that, either.

Well like the current 95E schedule, the advance schedule for the 95 has all the N5 trips blended into the schedule for the portion between 95th Red Line and 92nd/Commercial.final three trips of the 95 will leave 87th/Damen as a 95 and be an N5 by the time the bus reaches 92nd/Commercial. In other words, the final few route 95 trips leading to the reported 12:30 AM end time are actually combo 95/N5 trips. Opposite situation in the early mornings. Before the official reported start times, the last four or five N5 buses (number depends on the day) continue west of 95th/Dan Ryan as 95s.

So how those the new 95 interact with the 381 before 95w was coordinated with 381

Pace hasn't changed its schedule, which is essentially every 20 minutes at :10, :30, and :50 (except it goes to half hour at 7:10 p.m.).

Since the 95 schedule is essentially 11-13 minutes, they aren't coordinated. For instance, 95 leaves Red Line WB at 11:09 a.m., while Pace does at 11:10.

While 381 is Posted Stops Only, no indication that the posted stops have been cut back as of yet.

With 95W being gone pace has no reason to stop the posted stops only rule.  If anything pace had more reason to cease the posted stops only rule in it's coordination with 95W to make up for the missing 95W runs.  Now that 95 is it's on route with it's own schedule 381 is basically like what 352 is to 108.

I think you misunderstood what I meant The Webwatch map shows minor stops about every 2 cross streets, or about 6-8 per mile. If it were like 352, the Halsted would be the first stop, not the seventh. Some have argued that it should now be like what 270 rush hour was--express pick up only westbound and drop of only east bound. However, so long as there are posted stops approx. 1/8 mile, it is a local service, again essentially competing with 95, while, for the past couple of years, 381 was the alternate of 95W, the two together maintaining 10 minute service.

So for the "new" 95th street route apparerantly the new signs dont work cause I saw 2 buses with the 90N signs at the red line. You would think since they knew the 95 route would start Sept 4th that they would have the proper display signs installed and ready to go lol. I'm sure they'll fix this problem though.

pace should cut back stops east of western  such as halsted ,ashland, ri beverly, western.    Mimic what pulse may do?

Well before the coordination with the former 95W, it used to be limited stop along the portion of 95th shared with CTA. With the merging of 95W with 95E, Pace want to reexamine remaining a local service along the shared stretch.

Man it's some routes that still say transfer to red/green lines from when the Dan Ryan reroute not to mention the stray bus sporting a 14 Jeffery Express sign Herr and there.  Heck I even remember seeing a bus with an X3 sign in 2014 lol
