MCTS Older Buses from 1978-1990

100 Flxible New Look Buses arrived in Milwaukee in April 1978, The First Flxibles was equipped with Air Conditions, Wheelchair Lifts, Kneeling, and 2 piece Destination, The number was 3000 thru 3099. The Flxibles didn't began on Service during the 39 day strike of Milwaukee County Transit System in May 1978. After the 39 day strike the buses began back on service along with the Flxibles. One of the fixible begin the service was on Route 10.

In 1979 Milwaukee County Transit System purchased 150 GM RTS Buses The first GM RTS's Buses begin on service in Jaurary 1980 the number, model, engine of:

Then in 1980 Milwaukee County Transit System purchases 44 brand new Neoplans with N416 40 Feet & 35 Feet buses. The First Neoplans didn't delivered in summer of 1981 because of the problems of these buses. The first 44 Neoplan began on service in end of 1981 & early 1982.

The 1900's & 2000's of GMC were being rehabilitation and remodeled during the 1980's.

The first 40 Crown Ikarus Articulated Buses arrived at MCTS in March 1985 during the 125th Anniversary of Milwaukee County Transit System. The retirement of the GM TDH-5301's the last of the 1486 still in service after the first 72 Neoplan Buses begin on service during December 1985.

Then the Milwaukee County Transit System purchased 57 more Neoplan Buses then it begin on service by the late 1986.

The first 68 Orion V's was begin on service with MCTS during August/September 1990 then 48 more Orion arrived with Milwaukee in Jaurary 1991 17 Orion Buses equipped with Wheelchair Lifts.
