dauber
Okay, so as a CTA rider, this arrangement would make sense, but knowing the people here, what I'm thinking is probably a terrible idea, but here me out... Westbound 84 route from the Bryn Mawr Red Line stop...why not make Hollywood a stop? If you're walking -- especially in bad weather -- and you hit the red light at the corner of Ridge and Hollywood, you'll be standing there...a LONG time. So why should you not be able to board a bus that happens to be waiting there? Seems to me that they could move the stop at the intersection of Broadway and Bryn Mawr down to Hollywood. And why not? The Red Line stop is mere feet away from Broadway; plus, it'd make more sense if you're leaving the Walgreen's to veer RIGHT instead of LEFT to board that bus. But regardless, those two stops are just too close together. What? Leave the stop by Walgreen's where it is? Fine. Move the westbound Wayne stop to Hollywood. Wayne is close enough to Glenwood anyway. Thoughts?? Should I suggest this to CTA???
teck22
well you cannot really get rid of the byrn mawr/broadway stop for 2 reasons. People transferring to/from the 36 Broadway and then people that shop at walgreens would complain. And the only reason I can see a hollywood stop not work because going WB the light at hollywood is very short and the wait for another green is long. Going EB it would hold up traffic as the left lane is "suppose" to be for left turns only onto hollywood.
