This may seem like an odd question, but do any of you know where I can find diagrams/meausurements/blueprints for CTA buses? I'm trying to make a model Americana, but I can't find the measurements anywhere.

Well i can tell you CTA wouldnt be very cooperative. A few yrs ago i approached a CTA manager at Skokie Shops with a similar question and he wasant very happy to see me walking around the shops unaccompanied. I identified myself as a CTA bus operator but he gave me some static that I decided to leave on my own. So my advice would be just gather photos of them, dont go to CTA for help on this because they take the ©over (T)hat (A)ss attitude they wont be of much help. Thats all I can say.

I've build about 6 of TMC RTS buses for CTA from paperbus and few of MAN Americanas/ for model, I had to make Americanas on my own in a difficult way but I'll give you some measurements/ prints option for CTA Buses Americanas:

Since I cannot find any Americanas from any websites or google; I've used notecards, draw an windows and doors by ink pins and pencil for shaded windows, scotch taped the notecards for the foot of a bus, For colorprints, I've used copies of TMCs prints to cut up the prints and place them on the MAN Americana, and I've draw lights on them. Im sorry that I haven't be able to picture the examples on them, I had to get a new digital camera by X-Mas and I'll place the pictures on the web.

I have three of them for Seattle (KC Metro-2 different logos) and New Orleans (NORTA), and I'm making 4 more for Minneapolis, Chicago (Green-white logo and blue/ red logo), Charlotte (CATS), and San Diego (MTS). I hope this helps you a little bit. Those Americana are my favorite Retired buses. I'm surely miss them. :(
