MVTArider
I was wondering, with CTA and Pace do the drivers get assigned to a bus or are specific buses assigned to a specific route? I realize its harder to tell with frequent service. Here it seems to be quite mixed up with Metro Transit drivers going from a bus one day on one route to another the next. Whereas with MVTA you can start to count on a specific driver on one direction of the route with a specific bus as well usually. I also realize you need buses with the tracker on certain routes as well.
CircleSeven
You can find many answers by reading throughout this board. But a service worker in the garage give a driver a bus when they pullout, but when the driver get their buses by relief, they usually get on a bus that was assigned by a person that's already has that bus. For example, on Roosevelt, if K244 (and I'm using the 2003 run nos.) gets off, the reliever K250 steps in to start that run from that same bus. I don't think it matters which bus goes to the specific kind of route, except if there's buses assigned by Artics or assigned by an Optima (30ft.). But sometimes that doesn't matter either. I remember one 4900s (TMC-narrow) bus operating on the 15 Jeffery Local (which really at the time were assigned on the 14 Express because that route wasn't ruled as an Accessible bus route). MVTArider
^ Okay, thanks I was just wondering. With this board only being a couple dozen shy of 13000 comments it seemed like a bit of digging :D
