Guest
Morning everyone, just got off from the firehouse. This morning at 6am we were dispatched to a fire at 33rd/Pulaski. When we arrived, there was a major fire that began between some offices and the garage complex on the site at Bus and Truck. The offices were adjacent to the main garage where when we entered, there were CTA, Pace and other buses being worked on. We were ordered to enter the garage to make sure there was no fire inside. The buses I found in there were exPace Orion #2348 or 49, my memory is lapsed right now, some 6000 Orion low floors, CTA Hybrid #906 was stored in the back, an Avis Gillig Phantom, there were some Pace paratransits in there as well. I also spotted one of the blue 6200 Pace Nabis with the front end being rebuilt. We found the paint shop where there was an ex-Detroit RTS bus inside. Thankfully the fire didnt reach the garage, with batteries, fuel, paint and other chemicals it wouldve destroyed the enitre complex. We were battling ths fire for over an hour, after an hour and a half, the next shift came and took over for us, myself and my crew went home. There was some smoke damage to the garage complex where the buses were stored, the buses inside might have suffered smoke damage as well. After getting cleaned up at the firehouse I went home on the Ike then the Kennedy, at Armitage I passed a SEPTA New Flyer #8142 heading EB. Im on my way to Rockford this morning, lets see if any new CTA deliveries arrive today.
Busjack
Orion #2348 or 49 Probably 2349, as 2348 was seen in its normal North Shore territory.

Busjack
It was 2349 then.2349 was sitting in the Lake Cook cage this afternoon. It looked shinier than usual, so, maybe courtesy of the firefighters, it got fixed.
