Passed by and outbound 8 car train at Irving Park signed for Jeff Park. About the same time, a 4 car train inbound to Forest Park went by. As I got to Jeff, there was an 8 car train staged in the station (red lights both ends on the inbound track), passengers on board, signed for Forest Park. As I went by Foster, an inbound 4 car train went by, signed for Forest Park. Continuing westbound, as I reached Cumberland there were a pair of out of service cars on the inbound track, straddling the crossover, only emergency lights on inside, with reds on both ends. There was a ditch digger west of Cumberland on the inbound track. As I came to Rosemont, there was an 8 car train about to enter the station outbound, with 4 cars inbound waiting for the outbound train to clear. Obviously a single track situation around Cumberland. Upon arriving home, CTA website shows delays due to track work at Cumberland. Sure am glad I didn't need to use the L tonight.
