Busjack Posted May 12, 2011 Report Share Posted May 12, 2011 Based on the Hearing Notice and Press Release, I wonder about the proposal to merge 544 and 554. Not that both run on Chicago Street, but the implication that they are extending 554 to all day, bidirectional service. My understanding is that the only reason 554 is still running is that Pace keeps hitting up Streamwood and Hoffman Estates to subsidize the bus. Thus, one has to wonder where they get the funds to do this. Maybe it will show up when the minutes are posted next month. Also, not clear from what they posted what they intend to do with the 544 loop in the Bode Road area. Also, I see that they changed their tagline to "Connecting Communities." Like that was the most important thing requiring board approval. The way they have been cutting service in the past year or so, that slogan won't mean anything.
