dp1
Louisville is rolling out new buses for it's fleet. These buses run on cleaner energy, but also feature seat backs, luggage racks, Wi-Fi, and plugins for cell phones and other devices. Transit Authority of the River City (TARC) is ahead of the curve in providing this type of vehicle. Will CTA follow suit or will these buses come to Chicago when CTA makes it's next order of new vehicles? http://www.ridetarc.org/eTran/eTranInternal.aspx?id=1279

Will CTA follow suit or will these buses come to Chicago when CTA makes it's next order of new vehicles?http://www.ridetarc.org/eTran/eTranInternal.aspx?id=1279 CTA won't, but Pace already has with the 6377-6391 "express" buses (except for the plugins). The "cleaner energy" isn't unique, as all new diesels are called "clean diesels," since they need to meet EPA 2013 standards. At least CTA runs biodiesel (or at least used to). Searching the city site, it appears that these buses are for commuter runs from Indiana, and hence no different in function than the listed Pace buses. So, TARC is not that advanced.* _________ *Especially when the city site says that TARC is looking into electric circulator buses, which Chicago is supposed to get some time in the near future, and a "tap a smart card electronic fare system," which you can compare to Ventra.
