chicagopcclcar
This is a promo video I shot for a program for the Central Electric Railway Assc. in 2008. Now that YouTube lets longer videos run, I'll look and see if I can find the complete program. This promo shows many interesting things I got into with the CTA "L" in the last 25 years. Enjoy and if there any questions, just ask. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cya6om6NkE
trainman8119
David: Loved the video. I would like to have an explanation on what the 1-50 funeral train was all about. Is it as obvious as it sounds ?
chicagopcclcar
The newest PCC cars, 5- 50 and high numbers 6701 plus this fleet was rehabbed. I remember being told that passenger riding was under following the flood in the Loop and the cars were not needed. The cars were dispersed, but stored in ready for service condition. Over the years, the Federal quota was met and the cars ended up stored in 61st yard. When the decision was made to scap them, four consists were shipped to Skokie. Many of the cars were BO. A eight car train went south midway in the day. I made video of course.
