BusHunter
Kind of interesting in the last few months, Tri Met out of Portland, has retrofitted an articulated bus from diesel to electric. Voith is a company that supplies electric drive system retrofits in old refurbished buses. The bus in Portland, the first in the US is testing the new system for its viability. I think I was reading the system has also been tested in Germany. You know all these junk buses hanging out in scrap yards could actually get some new life in them. Part of the whole we'll be electric by 2040 movement could actually be a realistic acheivement if this gets off the ground. I expect more of these types of companies in the future. The Voith VEDS system not only can be applied in a bus system, it can be put in a semi as well. California is implementing a smog test for all semis in the state, like an emissions test. It might be a good idea if your business is based out there.
