CTA 2026 Historical Calendar

Since prior years ' calendars each got their own topic, the 2026 one is posted here.

I question how "historic: the opening of Damen station is, and the picture of busy State Street "between the early 1960s and late 1970s" is certainly from the early 1960s (no later than 1963), as no New Look buses are visible.

Also, based on the fleet number, the GM bus at South Works was a CSL/CTA bus, and not (as one would think) an ex-CMC bus.

UIC-Halsted was also just "Halsted" at that point. Calendar (June) claims it was U-of-I Halsted at the time it opened, but the site of UIC was not even determined until 1961.
