Guest bohica
Another day closer to dooms day and things are not looking good. FACT: This weekend they will be erecting 8000 signs telling riders of the routes that will be discontinued on January 20. There will be 24 hours of overtime paid out to over numerous employees to erect these signs. As before the company went and had to erect and then take them down the previous when we got the patches. All this money be wasted. Funny thing is legislation is still trying to get money to expand the Orange Line to Ford City Shopping Center. Forget about that and focus on the money needed to stop the lay offs and keep the routes running. Lets hope that these signs are taken down because we get the money needed. Busjack
Funny thing is legislation is still trying to get money to expand the Orange Line to Ford City Shopping Center. The Orange Line and all other New Starts are a separate issue, and as previously noted, the federal money will be left on the table unless there is a capital bill. As previously noted, WTTW said that over $40 million has been wasted on the Doomsday business, and all this proves is that more will be. But, as Daley and Blago now acknowledge that all the prior bailouts have done is enable the legislature to stall, maybe (as trainman has frequently said) Doomsday is necessary. It sure was in 1981.
