jajuan
If any of you saw the customer alert of service disruption on the Red Line between Grand and 47th, the accident in question is a person was struck and killed by a Red Line train on the tracks near 27th Street and the Dan Ryan. This is just where the Red Line tracks lead into the tunnel between 26th and 31st Streets to allow the Dan Ryan feeder lanes to merge with the main expressway lanes. I saw the breaking news just after 5pm on ABC7 News. The first question that comes to mind is how did a person get on the tracks at that location, not to mention what the heck was that person even doing on the tracks to begin with? They didn't say the victim was a CTA worker so I'm guessing that this was an ordinary person on the tracks.
Busjack
Channel 7 said it was a crime scene, and its web site said police were pursuing someone who committed a robbery. They describe the path of the [alleged] dead perp's flight, but I agree that it is somewhat incredible.
