Recommended Posts

There is a newspaper article in today's Redeye that shows new BRT's in the test phase in Cleveland. They show a picture of one of the buses. It has the BRT styling. The article claims the CTA is studying there planned rollout of BRT service in Cleveland. Well at least there buses look like BRT's. :P

Pace looked at the same type of vehicle back in 2006, they have a 60 ft and 45ft version. Same as what is operating in LA Metro and Eugene. There was an article in the Daily Herald of the bus made a visit to Pace HQ while it was passing through town.

They aren't "studying" they are implementing and it will be done in late fall/winter of this year. They completely rebuilt over 5 miles of street and added new landscaping. It looks very nice so far and it's not even done. Already the area it was built in has been having more interest in developing.

By they you sound like you mean Cleveland. I was referring to CTA studying Cleveland's plan. Wow!! what an impressive BRT network they are going to put out. We do need to study them. They have their own site euclidtransit.org in which they outline what they envision as there BRT network. They have videos outlining the plan. They have the special BRT vehicles that brings them the futuristic look of transit in the future. But if you look at their press releases, they have been working on this plan for years. At least it looks like it has been done right. CTA has alot of work to do to say the least. If Chicago can do as good a job as Cleveland they deserve to get the Olympics in 2016. This to me is the answer to the Olympic commitee's issues in saying that Chicago has a weak transportation system. They want to shuttle athletes around the city with ease. You could easily achieve this with this system and improve Chicago's traffic flow.
