Busjack
A link to a Pace sickout story in the Tribune. However, it seems like another instance of poor Tribune reporting, in that the top indicates that 10% of Pace walked, while the "10 percent of the Pace bus system's 155 full-time drivers" and reference to "The delays will affect routes in the south suburbs, stretching as far west as Tinley Park" indicates that it is only South Division. (As trainman points out, each division still has its own union). Anyone at South knows whazzup?
trainman8119
One of the stories I read on this today indicated that the drivers voted down a tentative agreement. As far as Pace saying this is an illegal action, as long as the union didn't sponsor or encourage the blue flu, it's not illegal, and any discipline Pace proposes will cause additional problems, since they will have to prove that these operators weren't actually sick. I am sure there are doctors out there who could "verify" any sickness...most would back their patients. Hey, who knows, the potato salad at the division picnic could have went south ;)
