Prarie Crossing

Does anyone know why the MD North inbound train # 2146 makes every stop EXCEPT Prarie Crossing?

Is there a way to get that changed

Thanks!

Upon arrival downtown, that train has about 6 minutes to make a turn around and head back out. Also, since that is all on a single track, that train has to get out of the way so all of the northbound rush hour trains can make their trips to Fox Lake, with 2125 waiting to get into the single track. 2142 departs Grayslake at stops there at 4:04, about 30 minutes before 2146 goes by. Granted, there is not another train until 7:43, but that is the reasoninig behind it.

Is that the only station they could have eliminated? It seems that Prarie Crossing is a valuable station as two trains lines cross there and would be the only point in the area to transfer.

Transferring does not come into play, since the North Central inbound trains are at 3:18 and 5:25...2146 does not apply to either. Also, that 5:25 train would account for an inbound train during that long down time. Ingleside and Long Lake are flag stops, so they are somewhat eliminated. You would not eliminate either Round Lake, Grayslake or Libertyville, since all are very heavily used stations. I guess the thought is that if you can get to Prairie Crossing at that time, you could get to Grayslake or Libertyville.
