ibebobo
What is the most "types" of buses the CTA had at one time? It seems like with the new 4000's and some 4400's and 5300's still running we could be there now.
MVTArider
I'd like to know myself, if I got this right, right now you have NF DE60LF, NF DE40LF, NF D40LF (duh) Nova LFS, TMC RTS, Flxible, NABI 60-LFW, and Optima 30ft. 8 types unless the NF DE40LF's and Flx's should be divided further. Thats a nice collection :D
Busjack
I'm sure the most was when the 1940s era buses were being phased out (you had manufacturers such as Mack, White. Twin Coach, Yellow/GMC, and Brill, with various sizes of buses, from 20 to 40 feet coexisting with the propane buses for a time), and also all sort of short series of trolley buses being replaced with St. Louis, Pullman, Brill, and Marmons. Early 90s, you had the New Looks (of which there were 4 series) slowly phasing out, while there were two series of Flyers and MAN Artics. and Americanas, even after the TMCs and Flxs were received in 1991. Now what you will have is over a 50% New Flyer fleet, even if they have different powertrains. Not much different from when Twin Coach-Flxible was predominant in the 60s, and GMCs basically from 1976 into the 80s.
