chgofan78 Posted March 25, 2009 Report Share Posted March 25, 2009 Nothing has changed with the Yellow Line. There are only 6 cars assigned to the Yellow Line (3453-3458). All 6 cars are needed for everyday service. However, if any of these cars are unavailable for service, then Howard dispatches Red or Purple Line equipment to the line- whatever is available. Sometimes they try to use the cars with the Yellow Line signs in their roller curtains which is all Purple Line cars and about half of the Red Line. I've also noticed 2975-2976 (and maybe 2977-2978 if they come back into revenue service from that Blue Line subway derailment) might be permanent Yellow Line cars too because they usually operate on that route instead of the Purple Line.
