Not reflected in the web link was an interviewed rider saying "they took my iPod for no reason" and the reporter saying "don't use an iPod because that diverts your attention." Could it be that using an iPod advertises that you have one to steal? BTW, they said the worse problems were on the west branches of the Green and Blue Lines. Showing off an iPod or any other electronic item on the el is like wearing a sign around your neck that says "Rob me". NEVER show off fancy electronics on the el or a bus; these robbers will steal them and then easily hock them at the nearest pawn shop for quick cash.
