west towns
Does anyone know what the original ridership projections were for the north central when it opened back in 1996? I was wondering as the stops in Rosemont and Franklin Park seem to have very little ridership (in Rosemont there is one or two cars in the lot). MetroShadow
Does anyone know what the original ridership projections were for the north central when it opened back in 1996? I was wondering as the stops in Rosemont and Franklin Park seem to have very little ridership (in Rosemont there is one or two cars in the lot). I used to work for the Village of Mundelein and I had the numbers on hand (the boards were next to my desk). I'll defend Rosemont and Franklin Park because I rode NCS for most of 2008-09: You would be amazed with the reverse commuters. Lots of people got on at Franklin Park (myself included), and lots of people would get off at Rosemont, during the AM rush. The PM rush crowds will get packed at Rosemont, and lots will get off at Franklin Park. If it wasn't for the reverse commute trips, ridership would not be as heavy (aside from Buffalo Grove and Vernon Hills). I can see Rosemont with the lack of vehicular use, but that stop is important to those who uses them (as noted).
