3300 retirements

Here is a retirements list for 3300-3449 series short Flxibles. Some notes:

3449 built with "Torsilastic" suspension - same as old-look Flx's had - as an experiment. Converted to air-ride at some point.

H - Hausman Bus Sales

ISP - Illinois Scrap Processing

P - Pielet Bros

CCC - Century Charter Coach (at 59th/Archer in Summit, apparently ran at least one for a short time, this was a VERY, VERY "fly by night" outfit!

NHTSA - National Highway traffic Safety Administration

CATCo (Continental Air Transport (O'Hare Employee Shuttle)

OrlPk - Village of Orland Park for a very short lived pre-RTA local shuttle operation

City - City of Chicago for Traffic Court Bldg-Kraft Bldg employee shuttle

CPD - Chicago Police Dept - these buses were fully repainted in CPD white/blue and were used for "community service" charters, such as taking kids to Head Start day camps

renumberings:

3300-3306 r# 26-32 2/74 for Evanston service

3422,3440,3423,3406 r# 33-36 8/76 for Evanston service

32-36 returned to old numbers 4/77

130-131 had wheelchair lifts installed for use on CTA's short-lived in-house paratransit service. Afterwards, 131 used as shop truck at South Shops, repainted white/red

M650 12/3/86 Pielet (this was breakdown tender for State St Mall, capable of pushing a dead bus off mall)

So a picture has popped up on the FLXIBLE facebook page showing a bus that was a supposedly an ex-cta 3300. It was used to serve Outer Drive condos. Just wondering if you knew the fleet number. It was owned by Remark Bus Lines at 18th and Clark
