Well PACE Northshore has not the Wilmette fireworks shuttle since 2019, I suspect that the ongoing man-power shortages are a large part of the reason why. BTW how bad is the man power shortage across the various divisions?

Probably the suspect had nothing to do with it. According to the Wilmette Park District site:

Apparently that was sufficient.

Only thing relevant (other than  there will be a bus)  is that the lot is at Loyola Academy instead of Edens Plaza. How it goes "direct" doesn't matter, unless the riders get stuck in a traffic jam. Also. $4.50 seems a bit steep.

I figure it will go down Lake, as it's a large arterial directly from the academy to gilson park. $4.50 is a bit pricey, but for the intended audience, it is reasonable enough. I do wonder, why not old orchard?

Depends on if the property owner gives permission, and Old Orchard Road is all torn up.

It's been a while since i was last there. Is there still construction going on?

Yes. It doesn't look like there has been much progress, especially around the Edens Expressway and the Hampton Inn.

The July and August park board meetings mentioned that the service was a relative success although ridership was low. The August park board meeting mentioned that they are looking at bringing some version of the service back next year. Possibly adding two additional stops along lake and adding one to the Ryan field lots. How they would accomplish that I don't know
