Lollapaloosa Blue line extra trains

It looked like 8 sets of extra runs were operating the rush hour. Also noticed two pink line extra trains. (Thought this was am rush only)

I also thought  that the present schedule  was maximum capacity for the power stations. If this is happening, can`t more 5000`s be assigned to blue?

The current schedule isn't max capacity  as related to the power stations.  This is because the line runs predominately 2600s and some 3200s.  Two sets of 5000s has been the maximum running on the Blue Line.  

CTA has always run extra trains for large events so we know that capacity wasn't in issue.  Running a bunch of 5000s that use more power IS an issue currently. No pun intended.
