amartin1982
I was on 65 Grand bus going west to Harlem getting off at Cicero transferring to Metra before they working on a Cicero/Grand Metra station reconstruction. I think I see tower which is a elevator tower. Do Cicero/Grand station needs a elevator or no?
trainman8119
I think I see tower which is a elevator tower. Do Cicero/Grand station needs a elevator or no? As of right now the station is considered inaccessible. If Metra intends on making this station accessable, it would need an elevator or at least a ramp to get from street level to platform. Hanson Park is also inaccessible, which makes Galewood the nearest stop for accessibility. I do believe all new stations have to conform to ADA requirements, and if the station is inaccessible now, it won't be for long and an elevator would be in the plans. MetroShadow
Hanson Park might or should be accessible from street level (Cortland or otherwise), but definitely not from Central Avenue. And I think Grand/Cicero is still finishing construction.
trainman8119
Hanson Park might or should be accessible from street level (Cortland or otherwise) Outbound, yes, but I think it is considered not accessible because of the inbound platform and having to cross 3 sets of tracks to get there, or boarding on the center track itself.
