Tamir4317
Hello, I'm a newbie here. I would like to share some ideas that I have for new paint schemes for CTA buses. One is painted in a dark ocean/navy blue, with white & red stripes around it. The "cta" logo would be on the white portion. I call this idea "The future of CTA". Since those Articulated buses from New Flyer are coming soon, maybe this paint could be used on them. Another paint idea is a sea green bus with white around the windows. And maybe one with a two tone orange with "cta" written in a fire orange/red color. This is crazy I know, but I just wanted to share this with fellow bus enthusiasts. The latter is in fact similar to the original CTA scheme of 1947-1960: mercury green body, cream above the belt, and an orange belt rail. However, on L cars on which that paint scheme lasted until about 1970, it faded to turquoise and coral. See chicago-l.org, 6000 Picture Gallery, especially the first picture of the cream and green scheme, and the second showing a high speed scheme with maroon and orange. Any reason, other than imagination, for posting this? Do you have a drawing program and are you able to post images as attachments?

I don't have a drawing program yet, but when I get one, I will post a rendering for people to see. I might send a rendering to CTA, who knows. Other than imagination, not really. Me, I've had this idea for a while now, and wanted to hear other people's thoughts.
Guest
The first thing that needs to be done is do away with that ridiculous logo that now are displayed on CTA buses. I cant believe CTA would replace the previous logo with the current one. CTA could do a better job of choosing a new design. It seems they went back 20 years instead of moving forward like they should be doing, I think the new logo is degrading. In my opinion not much thought and time was put into it, it is a lazy design. A few years ago a CTA Flxible #6128 was painted in an updated paint scheme which I thought was a nice change. It was a cleaner look that I think they could had adapted and retain the current logo. Yes. I remember that design. I was hopping it would have gone further because it was an exciting change of pace as far as paint schemes go. I don't like the new logo either. It's just too dull and boring looking.
