Remember the bus fire on LSD around Soldier's Field around December 22nd, 2005. (according to prior posts) It involved bus #7545. Well the bus is back from the grave. I spotted the bus on the #14 around September 25th 2007. I was amazed that it had returned so I took a trip on it. Everything on the interior appears normal but on the outside the second window on the right side from the rear is deeply tinted compared to the other windows on the bus. This is where the rear right tire is so I'm assuming it was a locked brake that in being driven heated up and started the fire. Also the # decal on that side is missing (probably was destroyed in the fire.)

That bus is sitting at 77th and Perry. Its off by itself just north of the scrapyard. You can see the burn marks above the rear driver side tire. Why would they not repaint it before putting it back in service?

The bus has been repainted in the spot of the fire, but the blue striping might be a shade off from the rest of the buses stripe. It just probably was forgotten to put the decal on or someone was supposed to do it and didn't (reminds me of someone in this forum not you mikey)

Let me stand corrected. The bus at the north end of the Perry scrapyard is 7555 not 7545 as i posted previously. It is burnt pretty good on the rear, probably another brake fire
