What Did CTA Do With Pans It No Longer Needed?

Hi All;

Once in a while you'll see 3200 cars with "roof boards" to which pantographs were formerly mounted.

I wonder how did the CTA dispose of those pans - or are they rusting somewhere at the Skokie shops?
