Van2001ko
Hello there which transmsision do you guys think handles best in CTA transit buses? ZF or Allision?
Van2001ko
Apparently Chicogo is going for the ZF 6HP-592 transmsision for the order of new flyers. SEPTA's New flyers has that model of transmission it's pretty good on hills. http://www.geartools.co.uk/mambo/index.php...&id=26&Itemid=
Busjack
Certainly a change from the 2 and 3 speeds that were on earlier generations of buses. I was going to vote for bringing back a double-clutch manual on an old Greyhound. I also wondered why early 90s Orions and Gilligs sounded different, but it probably was because of going back to first gear when braking. Since a local bus rarely gets any speed, I wonder how often they will get into 6th gear. Since the NABIs are now most often on the express routes, does anyone know if they have comparable transmissions?
geneking7320
Did anyone find out what engine will be used on the New Flyer buses on order?
venom_20
zf is the all around better transmission. You'll notice how much smoother the bus will shift. And it really pulls hills.
