MVTArider
I guess this is the beginning of the end of special shuttle routes... Wonder what this means for Minnesota State Fair Express Shuttles?
Busjack
This appears related to the ranting about the Shuttle Bugs, which I don't want to bring up again, except to say that while they appear to be regularly scheduled routes (there is even a 629 bus stop sign at Lake-Cook and Deerlake Road), I see no justification for the Special Events buses, or the X98, 154, 891, and 892 if the feds are stepping up enforcement. Renaming the Special Events buses (except those supplementary to routes 221 and 386) as expresses does not seem to me to change the substance. As far as the UPS buses, one would have to wait an see if they are run as scheduled fixed routes if the Teamsters go out on strike at UPS, as threatened. I wonder how many members of the public will be riding at 3 a.m. UPDATE: The strike is apparently off, so we won't be able to test that theory. The mention in the article about waivers for IndyGo indicates that this isn't that hard and fast either.
