CTA 9228
Hi I just joined, I know nothing pretty much about the CTA due to the fact that I live in Ottawa. I wish to learn about the CTA so I joined. I do know that a ex. CTA Fishbowl went to the Chicago Fire Department, is it still with them??, What CTA fleet # did it have?? Does anybody have any pictures?? Thanks Nick :)
jesi2282
The Fishbowl that was used by the CFD was wreaked and was later replaced ba a RTS Narrow 4900. One photo of the bus was on Bill Vandervoort's site but it seems to have disappeared.
trainman8119
Here is a pic I took a couple of years ago of that particular 4900. It was part of a parade on Dearborn Street. This was previously posted in another topic, but the pic fell out.
Busjack
The fishbowl was in Krambles and Peterson, CTA at 45, page 138, but I don't scan copyrighted work. Basically in the standard CTA scheme for the buses acquired in the 1970s, available at such sites as busdrawings.com, except that the two tone green was replaced with the kind of red you see on the TMC, also the right inner headlight was green and the left inner one red (assuming the convention that the driver's perspective governs).
