Guest
I just got off from the firehouse this morning, I couldnt post this yesterday because of no internet access. Yesterday I responded to a pin in accident at Kedzie/Jackson right outside Kedzie Garage. When we arrived New Flyer #1639 was involved in an accident with a car. An EMS Plan I was initiated which brought around five ambulances, two engine co. and one truck co. A car going south on Kedzie struck a WB #126 Jackson bus in the intersection. We transported ten people total to hospitals. Amazing the car was demolished and the bus barely had a scratch. The bus was hit in the rear exit doors. People really need to start driving more carefully, be it the auto drivers or CTA bus operators.

It looks as though the bus driver ran the red light, but Im just speculating. The bus cameras, especially the outside bus camera! will ultimately show what really happened. Thankfully no one was seriously injured.

I wonder if more of this goes on on the west side, or just that the newspapers, and you (by working there for the fire department) are just reporting it more. Im sure it still goes on more times than most people think. Just because it isnt reported dosent mean it dosent happen. Most times people wont report it but lately with the news media Im sure it will gain more attention, hopefully before its too late!.
