Don't know about that, and if there were openings, they would be listed on the External Career website, not here. Now, for something that is apparently true, according to Clout Street in the Trib., the CTA is controlled by da Mare (even though it supposedly is its own municipal corporation and has its own board) and has 26 Vice Presidents who have to take furlough days. Now, if anybody can tell me why CTA needs 26 Vice Presidents and what they do, please have at it. I can understand perhaps for Operations, HR, and Construction, but beyond that.... Maybe telling is that under Bus Operations there is only one posting for a Motor Cleaner, but under Legal Services there are two postings for first chair counsel. Apparently these lucky people who got in and those yet to be hired are not affected by the hiring freeze that Mr. Rodriguez announced earlier this month along with some other cost cutting measures that are supposed to help plugged the projected budget hole that was left in this year's remaining budget.
