trainman8119
While out and about on Sunday, I noticed that there was what appeared to be a 72 shuttle operating from North and Clark to the Beach. All the buses that came from the west used the terminal and a single bus was leaving the terminal signed for the Beach turning north on Clark after leaving the terminal. The same bus came back about 20 minutes or so later off of Clark and into the terminal, still signed for the beach. Since the beach season is over, this is all moot, but did they drop the direct service along North Ave for a shuttle from the terminal at North and Clark ? Nothing was noted at the bus stops, and they still referred to all buses (at the applicable times of day) operatinig via Clark to the beach and not using the terminal. Busjack
I don't have the answer, but the current schedule says effective September 5, not, September 7, if one would expect it to coincide with the end of beach season. If that was the case, the route only runs to Clark.

Due to the fact that run picks and the start/end times of special service seasons (in this case, the beach extensions) are not in sync with one another, and because that service is promised during those times, shuttles are put in place to connect passengers expecting that service with the mainline (or in this case, the regular routed bus between Clark and Harlem). I did a similar shuttle the beginning of the Fall 2008 pick for Montrose beach service, operating exclusively between Montrose beach and Marine Drive to connect passengers with the thru bus to Harlem. Since the runs took effect earlier than the actual end to the "beach season", that link is still there as promised.

And that clears that up !!!! Thanks.
