Looking for CTA bus hourly ridership

RTAMS may or may not have that data available, but it's a good place to start.

If one is talking about readily available public information, one gets only the doctored daily average numbers in the monthly Ridership Reports.

I suppose that the gps gives CTA some bus stop and time information (Pace claims to use it to restructure routes), but you will probably have to FOIA for that.

I had asked Metra for ridership stats by station via a FOIA request. They responded by telling me to go look at RTAMS. I doubt the CTA will provide any information they don't have readily accessible.

Which is essentially how the Emanuel administration has looked at it.

If the numbers are not already compiled, CTA will assert the "unduly burdensome" exception to FOIA.

But you don't get if you don't ask. And, as you indicate, you don't get even if you ask.
