Transit web sites dropping off the face of the Internet

I was trying to check out some of the transitalk.info links that worked a couple of days ago, and got error messages and a message using the main transitalk.info url that the hosting wasn't configured. Some other widely used transit picture sites, such as natransit.com are gone--the Los Angeles division is apparently now www.chaffeeyiu.com. Cleanairbus.com lost its domain name and is trying to restart as cleanairbus.info. A link I had to transitgallery.com failed, and their home page said that they have to rebuild because someone screwed up their account (one of the 3 galleries for which I was looking was there, but under another php number). Are hosting or domain name registration problems becoming endemic in this area?

Problems like these can occur often for hobby sites. However, I'm surprised more people don't have their domain names set for automatic renewal.

Transitalk.info is still around but is down for a few days for maintenance.  I don't know what happened to natransit, but I recall that the Los Angeles link always redirected to chafeeyiu.com.
