trainman8119 Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 Awhile back I brought up the fact that I heard that Forest Glen might be relocated in a reconfiguration of the neighborhood surrounding it. It was stated that there were not any plans from the CTA standpoint of this happening (mainly no $$$). However, in working trains on the Fox Lake line, I have noticed that what appeared to be a large wearhouse behind the shop has been leveled. Is this private land, or does the CTA have some plans to perhaps expand the facility is some way ?? There is no other access to the property, other than by the garage itself (probably on Armstrong ave). Quote
Busjack Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 There was something in the Homes section of the Pioneer Press about condos going there (I assume on Armstrong Brothers property). However, I can't see buying a condo facing an open bus yard. Quote
trainman8119 Posted June 29, 2006 Author Report Posted June 29, 2006 I'd do it if the price was right...but then I am (bus) nuts:P Quote
RIPTA42 Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 There are indeed townhouses going up east of Forest Glen garage, and the only access to the property appears to be via Armstrong Ave - essentially through the garage. I wonder how long it will be before the new neighbors start lobbying to have the garage shut down. Quote
