Reading this. it is a step, but a baby step. It is using underground cars instead of a commuter train, and a 5 mile round trip lasting 24 minutes between charges. That would be similar to the planned Rock Island battery trainset staying on the Beverly branch south of Gresham, instead of going downtown. The equivalent RI round trip to downtown would be 34 miles, but a charger at LaSalle St. Station might also be planned.
