A/B Skip-Stop Express ''L'' Service.

Does Anyone Think The Old Skip-Stop Will Ever Come Back To The CTA? Are There Any Express ''L'' Operations,Besides The Purple Line Express, Also Know As The Evanston Express.

Probably not, because of the longer headways. However, I think it should come back to the north end of the Red Line, since a stop every 3 blocks is too slow. Probably not necessary anywhere else.

I would like to see it come back to the Red and Blue Lines.

Trains really did move faster when it was a reality. To me, what really slows service down is the elimination of the Conductors...two man crews. Let the motorman operate the train and the conductor worry about doors and passengers. I am still waiting for the day when someone gets dragged out of a station hanging out of the doors because the "operator" (year 2000 term) is on his/her way back to the throttle and not watching the outside of the train. 20-30 seconds a station for the "operator" to go back and forth to the control stand adds up to a lot of time on a trip.

Does anybody remember when the Evanston Express was really an express train...it the old days, it ran express from Howard to Belmont, then to the Merchandise Mart.
