Buses are not hover machines

I had to laugh this morning, driving in heavy rush hour traffic that was in motion. I seen a passenger motion to a bus from the middle of the street being he wanted to board. Funny thing was there was not bus stop at that location. The bus passed by and he gestured by a sarcastic wave to the bus driver. I think passengers think that buses are hover crafts and can raise up in rush hour and wait for them. Everyone waants to point fingers at the CTA employees but do they think of the inane things pasengers want them to do. Like this driver was going to hit the brakes putting passengers on bus and drivers around in a very unsafe situation just so this person in the middle of street wanted to board. If driver would have stop in an undesignated spot causing a serious accident on a main street just to get a passenger would he be hailed as the"Employee of the Year"? He would be the employee of the year in the unemployment line. Passengers need to use thier brains and quit blaming the CTA employees.

It's part of the 'me' syndrome everyone suffers with today. Everyone wants what they want now regardless of how it affects everyone else or if it's standard policy or not.

I wish every CTA passenger had the same attitude you did. The riding public would be a lot better off.

By the way, if you get injured, but you say that it was not where a bus stop sign was posted, you can't collect from the CTA. Appellate Court reference to Yokley v. CTA.

What if this guy needed to be somewhere? I'm sure he wouldn't wanted to waited for a bus that's late. However, what really got me is that the passenger wasn't at a bus stop, so it could have been for something. In short, i'm sort of confused.

If the bus driver would have stopped immediately he would have casued a major accident injuring passengers on the bus and the people in the vehicles around him. They would have a legal suit against the CTA.

First he should have left earlier. Second how do you flag down a bus from the middle of the street in rush hour and vehicles going 40 mph with no bus stop at that location and expect the driver to stop the bus. Then to top if off be sarcastic to the bus driver. CTA employees that take public transportation to work and are late for work are told they should have left earlier and are docked for that time.
