I was talking to an operator on the 2 the other day and he said that he knew a few drivers who were switching just because the 14 is assigned articulateds but the 2 gets either bad express buses (Novas, New Flyers, Flxible 6000s) or really, really, really slow buses (TMCs, Flxible 5300s). Even though the NABIs are really, really crappy, they're still better than trying to drive an unbelievably slow Flxible down Lake Shore Drive. I know this is going to get off topic a bit, sorry for that, but I'll have to agree only to the NABIs being better than a slow Flxible 5300 on an express run. But Novas and Flyers are a better ride than NABIs especially with flaws brought up in the NABIs are crap thread. Novas are definately quick on most of the express runs I rode them on. And don't underestimate New Flyers, you might not here that motor blasting when it rolls down the drive but they can be fast as well. I'm interested to know what makes Novas and Flyers such bad express buses in your opinion. And I can't say I've really experienced a slow TMC on the Drive. It almost sounds like you're saying only the NABIs can make good express buses since you dismissed just about all the rest of the models that are currently in service. However, my experience with a slow Nova or Flyer for that matter had more to do with the driver being slow than the bus. Most of my rides on express Novas and Flyers have been pretty fast.
