A MCTS bus and a School bus hit today this was the result. And why a Route 30 was on 6th street I have no Idea why. That is the route 80 line

Will this bus be rebuilt I do not think so It is 12 years old.

You would think that the front end would hold up better vs. a school bus. However, seeing other examples like that in the CTA and Pace yards, that pillar must be a weak spot.

My two theories on the bus being at that location are that it was a pull-out (though a brief review of the schedule didn't show any 30s starting downtown), or it was a tripper from Tech High or Bay View. Do you know the routing those buses take?

The only route that would have a 30 on 6th street would be a Bay view HS tripper. But it would turn left at North ave and go west Minacie is north of North ave

The collision happened at McKinley, not Meinecke. An internal MCTS source told me the bus was on a pull-out.
