qwantae
Today this afternoon, I've spotted #4404 working #12 Roosevelt turned off Roosevelt into Southbound Columbus/ Lake Shore Dr. At lease some of North Park 4400s are surviving. Wow! I saw #4404 on #36 Broadway a few months ago in September. It seems like the 4400s aren't actually being retired 10 buses per week as there has been shifting of them between North Park, Kedzie, 77th, and 103rd ever since #1430/#1431 have shown up on the property. You know what, I did saw that one working #22 Clark on Dearborn passing Daley Center around that time. I guess that CTA's trying to keep half of 4400s, some of 4600s, All 4700s and 4800s running for alittle longer til near 4th quarter this year. And getting rid of 4500s and mostly 4600s because most of them are bad shape.

Buses are being retired based on the condition they're in, with the ones needing the most time-consuming or expensive repairs being scrapped first. Whether it's a 4400 or 4800 (or a 5300) doesn't really matter.

Yes I spotted it early this afternoon eastbound at Kedzie. I also spotted it yesterday on Roosevelt as well as 4403. I was going to mention it yesterday, but I wasn't sure if they were fairly recent transfers from North Park or had been in Kedzie for a while and maybe I just didn't notice with the Flyers being the prevalent 40 footer used on Roosevelt these days. Is 4400 even still running out of North Park? or Retired?
rmadisonwi
I'm pretty sure it's retired.
Danielsmusic
I'm pretty sure it's retired. I asked an older driver on a 136 PM run yesterday, and he said he thinks it's retired.
