Optima Bus 30 Ft. Order Placed

I never seen these models before. Anyone know how good/reliable they are?

I'm not sure about their overall reliability, but specifications, photos, and a video can be found at Optima's Web site.

I like them. They are being used in Hammond. You can see a picture at Bus Explorer or Chicago Transit & Railfan. (However Will still hasn't corrected his C&CD map based on my experience when I lived there).

The real question is why the CTA says they need at least 50 of them (and up to 125), even if added to far NW and SW side routes (such as 55A, 55N, 64, 69). Also, if the $17.5 million is only the base order, they cost about as much as the last group of 40 footers.
